re-tale

Visual merchandising is the art of telling stories, public narratives that invite us to worship, to enter, to buy.
In this theatre, imagine that the characters are given lines that they speak to us, to each other. What would they say? What words could express their emotions, desires, and what could we offer them?

From 2004 to date, I have been capturing the retail personalities - mostly around Oxford St and Regent's St, standing in the street and using a small compact camera and natural or found light.

These images have now been uploaded to flickr, where I’m now inviting the public to use the comments box for each capture to offer thoughts and conversations.

The most popular, apt and relevant suggestions will be selected for use in a future exhibit or work. The public will also lead the curation by marking their ‘favourite’ images from the near 200 on display

Contributors whose work is used will be entered into a profit share.
